Amphibian Response To The House Health Bill
I came here to renew the American Dream, so my kids and their kids have the same opportunities I had. I came here to fight big-government monstrosities like this bill that dim the light of freedom and diminish opportunity for future generations…
— John Boehner (R-OH), House Minority Leader
You arrogant hypocrite! Republicans didn’t have a problem running up the biggest deficits in American history when all that funny money was funneling directly into the coffers of the military-industrial complex. And asserting that health-care, free of the kleptocratic greed that makes Republican fellow travelers rich, somehow ‘dims the light of freedom’ when pre-emptive war, torture and the pervasive—illegal—surveillance of law-abiding American citizens, do not, paints you as some kind of delusional f*ckwit.
— Kvatch
(Boehner) … Republicans have better solutions to lower costs and expand access to quality care—especially for those with pre-existing conditions—without adding to the crushing debt Washington has placed on our children and grandchildren… Our plan will lower premiums by up to 10 percent, making health care more affordable for families and small businesses. That’s what the American people want, and that’s what Republicans will continue to fight for.
(Kvatch) Here’s a newsflash for you: Pelosi’s bill won’t pass, and even if it did nothing will fundamentally change until the profit-motive is removed from the system, as it is in every other western democracy! But let’s be absolutely crystalline clear: I *AM* part of your ‘kids generation’, and I’m not going to forgive or forget how your generation and your party (…as well as my party, for that matter) have robbed, and continue to rob, my generation of opportunity. And when you come to us bleating about how you’ll save us a paltry 10% on health-care that we can’t even get…AT ANY F*CKING PRICE…we see you for what you are: A shill—a sad, wheezing, tool whose claim that he speaks for the ‘American people’ is as presumptuous as it is absurd. A multi-millionaire darling of the insurance industry, with health-care that I’ll never qualify for in my lifetime, knows no more about the average American than the CEO of Blue Cross. So please…crawl back into your gilded hole, and leave the lies to people who deliver them more convincingly.

The republicans only have a plan when the democrats have a plan, the main gist of the republican plan is to bend us all over and ram it fair and square up our jaxies, just like always.

I loved the three boehners that Boehner committed in the one speech.
1. attacking government, even as government medical staff tended to a man in the crowd having a heart attack,
2. said he was reading from the Constitution, but read from the Declaration,
3. said “unalienable” instead of ‘inalienable’ — a mistake which made it into the transcripts.

The Republicans have a plan? Why didn’t they enact three years ago, when they had a majority, and were none too concerned with doing anything “bipartisan”?

Fallenmonk… :-) Maybe I shouldn’t have toned it down so much!?
Holte… Oh come on…their plan is to give use the equivalent of coupon on laundry detergent, and who doesn’t like coupons? “Here, take $5 off your next gall-bladder surgery!”

Mr_Blog… Boehner’s a piece of work. “Dim the light of freedom,” was a rhetorical turd of monumental import.
Why didn’t they enact three years ago, when they had a majority…
Lew… Because silly, that would have taken money away from fighting commie–I mean–terr’rists!

Wouldn’t an amphibian’s response to the House health bill be, “I hope it croaks”? “What a ribbit off”?
