McCain picks a chick!
John McCain has announced today that his choice for Vice President is Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. That’s right folks, the old guy went for the hot young thing. A May/December political pairing of historic significance. I’m sure he’s thinking, she’s from Alaska, she’s got to be in the pocket of Big Oil, we’ll get along fine. Or maybe he’s counting on her hottie librarian look to appeal to all those disaffected Clinton supporters. Either way she will be known henceforth as the Geraldine Ferraro of the GOP.
What kind of world do we live in where the “CHANGE” candidate picks an old establishment white guy for a running mate and the GOP chooses a woman?!

That’s not change, Palin and Watts ‘12!

I think the only proper response is to paraphrase Karl Rove. The only thing Rove got wrong was the party:
“I think he’s (McCain) going to make an intensely political choice, not a governing choice. He’s going to view this through the prism of a candidate, not through the prism of president; that is to say, he’s going to pick somebody that he thinks will on the margin help him with disaffected Clinton supporters. He’s not going to be thinking big and broad about the responsibilities of president.”

the old guy went for the hot young thing
And that’s a surprise HOW?

And she won a Miss-Something-or-other pageant! She should be asked to locate the U.S. on a world map…

Randal – Or she could be prez sooner, I’ve seen headlines on this “McCain’s stroke of genius!”. Stoke being the key word here I think. ;-)
Kvatch – Political choice, ya think? That or he thought she’d look good on television. You know the VP is only good for cutting ribbons and attending state funerals anyway.
WINWs – And that’s a surprise HOW?
It’s not. I’ve got worse pix of her than that. Google her.

Hey, McSame’s checkin’ out her rack!
Oh, and I just noticed she’s wearing a flag pin, AND HE’S NOT!!! Why does McSame hate America???

Has anyone seen Palin and Michele Bachmann in the same place at the same time?
What is it with Resmuglican women and the Karen Walker look?

WINWs – That is just so wrong! Ewww

From Mayor to VP candidate in 2 years is kind of scary. The old guy could croak easily then she would be in charge. She is a vindictive pro-life Christian who in her first remarks as a candidate mentions nuclear Iran and Russian aggression.
And when William (the Bloody) Kristol gives her his endorsement, it is time to beware.
THAT is frightening!

M. Yu – Yeah I heard about the pro-life stance, scary isn’t it. Contemplating that as President of the United States? Not the woman I would have voted for.

From Mayor to VP candidate in 2 years is kind of scary.
And to think…I was saying that Obama’s rise to political prominence was fast.

Can McCain be any more obvious that he’s desperate? Plus he’s just cut the legs out from under his favorite Barak boogeyman – that’s he’s too inexperienced. She makes Obama look like an elder statesman.
A president McCain would be just one Palin-inspired impure thought away from lying in state at the Capitol rotunda. And then we’d be stuck with this neophyte from nowhere? What are the McCain people thinking?

Abi – I agree. It’s like anything with two X chromosomes would do. I don’t think the Hillary contingent is going to go for a pro-lifer. She makes Barack look like an elder statesmen, too funny! I think the McCain folks have just given up. Heck, they could’ve named Sponge Bob Squarepants.
August 30th, 2008 at 5:24 am
Sponge Bob just might’ve swung my vote.

BainSmac – Me too. You know I just realized that Cheney bears more than a passing resemblance to Squidbert. Coincidence? I don’t think so…
