American idiot

So I read a blurb in The Week magazine about celebrities hiring ghost writers to compose their “tweets” on Twitter.  Seriously.  Doesn’t that make us the laziest, stupidest group of people on the planet?  If you can’t even be bothered to write a one liner mini-blog post shouldn’t you just give up and stay off Twitter?  I know you probably don’t believe me, but this is real.  Apparently Britney Spears, 50 Cent and even Ron Paul have all copped to having Twitter ghostwriters.  Clearly we are doomed.

  1. Compose ‘tweets’? WFT? I still haven’t figured out why anybody would waste their time using Twitter anyway, much less pay someone to compose their content for them.

  2. Not the least bit surprised to read this. Twitter is free publicity for celebrities, but most of them probably don’t really want to be bothered with it. My son’s band isn’t even famous but their manager does most of the Facebook stuff – although not as a ghostwriter. He just does it as himself. They’re on the road and having all they can do to keep up with their girlfriends and families a lot of the time.
